The Simple Non-Deterministic Cube Performance Test provides a comprehensive assessment of both CPU and GPU capabilities. The test involves the simulation of cubes being dropped, with the objective of determining the frame rate at which averaging falls below 60 frames per second. The cubical objects interact in a manner that adheres to established rigid body physics principles, showcasing realistic stacking and tumbling behavior.
CPU performance is evaluated through the physics computations required for simulating the interactions, while GPU performance is gauged by the maximum number of cubes that can be rendered concurrently. This is further complemented by a visible measurement of polygons processed per second.
The final performance score is derived from a combination of the total number of cubes rendered and the polygons processed each second. Additionally, the test features leaderboards that highlight performance rankings for each individual GPU chip.
